A little more to go on

A screenshot only tells
part of the story.

An old screenshot can leave you guessing. AwardChecker checks the account's award list with Hyatt and shows when it was checked.

  1. 01

    Ask for a fresh check.

The award holder opens AwardChecker in Chrome and checks their Hyatt awards.

  2. 02

    Get a viewing code.

When they create a code, AwardChecker rechecks the list with Hyatt. The code works for ten minutes.

  3. 03

    See the details for yourself.

Enter the code in your extension to see award types, counts, expiration dates, and the check time.

A useful check, with clear limits. It shows an award list at a point in time. It doesn't verify the person's identity, reserve an award, confirm delivery, or protect your payment.

I'm building toward a place to find awards and get a clearer picture of who you're trading with. Here's what's open now, and what comes next.

Find the award
you're looking for.

Search Hyatt listings. Filter by award type and expiration date, then sort to find what fits your trip.

Each listing shows what's offered, the asking price, and when the seller's awards were last checked. Make an offer, then agree the details on a private exchange page.

A note from the person building it

Hi, I'm Willie.

You can email me directly

Sending money to someone in a Facebook group asks for a lot of trust. Right now, it can be hard to tell whether they even have the award.

I'm building AwardChecker on my own, starting with that one question. The checker won't solve every risk in a trade. But it can give you something more useful than a screenshot.

The marketplace is open now. You can browse listings, make an offer, and keep the details on one private exchange page. Payment is still arranged directly between the two of you. If something doesn't work, or doesn't make sense, email me. That's how I'll know what to fix.

Before you join

Fair questions.

Here's what AwardChecker can do today, and what to expect.

What can I use today?

The marketplace is open. Anyone can browse Hyatt award listings. Create an account to make an offer or list your own awards, and each exchange gets its own private page. Payment is arranged directly between members. There's no checkout or escrow.

The Chrome extension checks your Hyatt awards. Use it to check an award before you list it, or to create a short-lived code so someone else can view the result. Checks need desktop Chrome, and both people need AwardChecker to share a code. Ratings and payment protection are not available yet.

Does a check mean it's safe to pay?

No. It confirms a recent award list, not the person's identity or their promise to send an award. Awards can change after a check. AwardChecker doesn't hold money, guarantee an exchange, or confirm that an award reached you.

What happens to my Hyatt information?

You sign in on Hyatt. A regular award check stays in your browser. If you choose to share a code, AwardChecker temporarily uses your current Hyatt sign-in to recheck the list on its server. Those sign-in details aren't saved.

The shared view masks your full name, membership number, and award certificate numbers. Anyone with the code can view it until it expires; you can stop sharing sooner. Read the privacy details.

Is this part of Hyatt?

No. AwardChecker is an independent project and isn't endorsed by Hyatt. A successful check doesn't mean an exchange is permitted under Hyatt's rules. Review the World of Hyatt terms before arranging an exchange.

Does it cost anything?

Creating an account, browsing, listing, making offers, and checking your awards are free. AwardChecker won't ask for a payment method. You arrange payment for an award directly with the other member. Pricing for future features, like payment protection, hasn't been decided.

Can I use it on my phone?

Yes. You can browse the marketplace, create an account, and make offers from your phone. Checking your Hyatt awards, including before you list one, needs the extension in Chrome on a computer. Tell Willie if you mostly use your phone so he can take that into account.

Can I install the test extension myself?

Yes. If you're comfortable installing a test extension, you can try it now. If you get stuck, email Willie and he'll help you get set up.
